ABOUT:Middle school student Mirai has always believed in magic, and with he trusty teddy bear Mofurun, discovers a junior witch named Riko has fallen into the local forest and is lost. The two discover they share identical necklaces, and Riko reluctantly befriends Mirai. Meanwhile, the evil Dokuroxy sends his minions to Earth to find the Diamond linkle stone, which Riko also came to Earth to find. To stop Dokuroxy from finding it, and saving the people his minions attack, Riko and Mirai discover they have the power to transform into Pretty Cure, the legendary warrior magicians. The two girls are now tasked with defeating Dukuroxy and collecting all of the linkle stones scattered across Earth and the Magic realm. In order to better use their powers, Mirai joins Riko in Magic School, where the two must become friends and learn to work together if they are to save anyone. This series is slightly comedic, very slice-of-life, and themed around magic and gemstones. STATS:WHO SHOULD WATCH IT:Lovers of magic school series like Harry Potter will adore this feminine yet feminist take on the genre. It also still follows the general constructions of a classical magical girl storyline, and goes back to the original roots of Pretty Cure, which also featured a magical girl duo/trio. SIMILAR SERIES:

GoPri is the 12th original series in the Precure franchise. For more information, including how to watch Precure, see HERE. In order to keep Earth safe, and restore the fairy kingdom, Flora must find the other Precure, and work together with them to collect the magic keys that have been lost on Earth. There's a decent amount of action, lighthearted comedy, and tons of slice-of-life moment's from the girls' school lives. DokiDoki is the 8th original series in the Precure franchise. For more information, including how to watch Precure, see HERE. This series was dubbed as Glitter Force DokiDoki, which is very different. ABOUT:Mana, a middle school student, encounters the fairy Sharuru while visiting the Clover Tower. Together, they encounter the Jikochu, creatures created using the soured heart of an unhappy person. Sharuru gives Mana the power of Precure, the first of several Legendary warriors who use their powers to save Earth, and to restore the Trump Kingdom, which has been overrun by Jokochu. Meanwhile, someone else seeks the Trump Kingdom's Princess, and hopes to use her power and the Precures to defeat the Jikochu once and for all. The series themes are selfishness vs selfishness, playing cards, and there's an Idol character. ABOUT:ChaCha is a witch-in-training. She's clumsy, forgetful, and regularly summons the wrong thing (largely due to the words sounding the same, similar, or puns.) But when her friends are in trouble, ChaCha is the first person to lend a hand. ChaCha's friends are equally magical - a young boy descended from werewolves named Riiya, a sometimes-mermaid named Marin, ChaCha's somewhat-rival magician Shiine, and a number of other magical creatures in training, along with their teachers. ChaCha and her friends are given magical devices by ChaCha's teachers, which allow ChaCha to transform into the Magical Princess, which boosts her powers. And it turns out, she needs all the help she can get, as Daimaō and his minions intend to wreak havoc on the land! It should be noted the the first two anime series are completely unique and act as "Prequels." The third series blends stories from the manga with new anime-only ones, while the fourth and fifth series follow the manga arcs. This series is very light hearted, slightly romantic, and non-violent. It contains many ministories focusing on the problem of the day, with the main arcs being less important. There's plenty of references to fairytales, particularly Western ones -ChaCha for example represents Red Riding Hood! STATS:ABOUT:
