Mixing idol and magical girl elements, this unique series follows Tiara as she enrolls in her prestigious Flora Girls' Academy for Witches where young women train to master magic and defeat the evil magic monsters that threaten their world. Tiara finds herself teamed up with her childhood friend Rosetta, the sporty but not very bright Lavie, the stoic Ashley, and the book obsessed Lynette. Unfortunately, if the group's grades don't improve, they'll risk being expelled together! The new friends soon find themselves leaning not only only each other, but their fellow students and seniors, as they navigate a world powered by music-made magic. This series is a multimedia franchise, and the story is slightly altered depending on which version you follow. So far, there is a manga, an anime, a teased smartphone game, and an unreleased/planned novel. There's no romance, and though there is some action and of course idol performances, the series leans more towards being slice-of-life in tone. The humor is a bit adult at times, though nothing rude or explicit, so it's still suitable for younger viewers. STATS:WHO SHOULD WATCH IT:If you enjoy softer idol series, but wouldn't mind a bit of magic and action thrown in, this series will definitely fill up your bucket list. It's a great introduction series to the world of idols for anyone who wants to go in the other direction as well. SIMILAR SERIES:
