By writer-artist duo known as KaiJu ABOUT:It's been 15 years since magical girl Shimmer Shimmer Sky Patcher Chimaka was defeated. Now an adult, Chimaka has plenty of other things to worry about, like her job as a rock scientist, and her grief over loosing her 'destined' boyfriend. But unfortunately for Chimaka, evil doesn't care about a woman's needs, and Chimaka finds herself suiting up once again - that is, if she can. In order to do that, though, Cimaka must once again learn to believe in love and magic, and so her new friend Pip decides to give her a hand. This LGBT+ comic is a story of finding love in unexpected places, as much as it is about sel-flove. NOTE: This series is rated R16 due to language and nudity. Star Twinkle Precure is the 16th original series in the Pretty Cure franchise, You can read about the franchise HERE ABOUT:Space enthusiast Hikaru discovers the aliens Lala and and Prunce, who are seeking out the legendary Star Colour Pens, which will save the twelve zodiac Star Princesses. The Notraiders soon attack, looking to take the Star Colour pens for themselves, and Hikaru discovers that she is one of the Pretty Cure - legendary warriors who use their imagination to fight evil, collect the pens, and save the Star Princesses. Hikaru is soon joined by more Precure friends, and sets off in Lala's space ship to explore the universe and save the Princesses. Along the way, they meet more foes and friends alike. This series introduces new ideas never before seen in Precure - for example, there's singing during transformation scenes, and the majority of episodes end in cliffhangers. Both were controversial additions among fans. It also includes the first dark-skinned main character Cure. However, it still retains the romance-free, upbeat attitude with plenty of slice-of-life and comedy moments, just like all the Precure before it. ABOUT:This webcomic follows Ginny, a 12 year old school girl who encounters a little black cat called Beck. Mysterious flowers start appearing all around town, and seem to cause those that visit them to become angry and irrational. Ginny, attempting to help one of her affect friends, discovers she has the power to become a magical girl, capable of helping those who have been affected - through the power of friendship, of course! It should be noted that Ginny is transgender, and while the comic at large is never explicit or violent, sexuality and gender identities do play a role in the storyline. STATS:LANGUAGE: English LENGTH: Unknown STATUS: Incomplete (Indefinite Haitus) WHERE TO READ IT:Given the nature of webcomics, unfortunately the official website and tapas are no longer available.
However, it is still available on the official Tumblr: https://prettycomic.tumblr.com/ Adora, an orphan raised by the Horde, discovers a magical sword which allows her to transform into the Princess of Power, She Ra. As She Ra, Adora encounter the Resistance, and slowly discovers that the Horde - intent on conquering and controlling their world, known as Etheria - and that everything she was raised to fight for is wrong. Adora has to choose a side - between her family and newfound friends. In order to defeat the Horde, the Princess Alliance - made up by the powerful, magical princesses from the different lands across Etheria - must be brought back together. It's a task filled with mayhem, danger, betrayal, and the occasional musical number. There are several confirmed LGBT+ characters, but also a lot of queer-baiting. This series is a Netflix-produced reboot of an 80s cartoon, with a new storyline, diverse cast, and no longer a spinoff of He Man. This ongoing webcomic by Alex Heberling follows a group of Magical Girls whose world-saving powers show up far too late to actually save anyone from the invading alien forces. Instead, Sami seeks out answers, and is soon joined by other girls with powers. Together, they seek to conquer their gifts, discover the origins of their powers and the aliens, and help what remains of humanity to survive. The post-apocalyptic scenes and their focus on survival rather than world-saving is definitely fresh and unique, and is very believably done. At the same time, there's still plenty of classic magical girl moments to go around, especially as these very different girls have to learn to work together. The girls range from late high school into adulthood, and the comic does depict adult issues like death, war themes, and mild gore. There's also some LGBTQ+ content. STATS: |
