The sensitive, adolescent girls who live there are each opening up doors to their own, unique possibilities. No one wants to forget the path they take to adulthood." STATS:LANGUAGE: Japanes LENGTH: 0 released, 15 planned STATUS: Unreleased WEBSITE & TRAILERS:Their website is http://prism-nana.com/ and currently remains active and open. The trailers are available via youtube. Some have been made unlisted, so they're easier to find when using playlists. In 2011, the Italian YouTube channel theANIMATIONband graced us with a teaser trailer for a cartoon called Girls of Olympus. The channel is filled with trailers and character profiles - some in English, some in Italian - for shows that do in fact exist. Which, given theANIMATIONband is a genuine production company, should come as no surprise. What is surprising, however, is that Girls of Olympus is not a released show. Instead, theANIMATIONband has been dropping trailers since 2012, and doesn't seem to have any plans to actually produce the series. According to their website, it's intended to have 12 episodes. The video descriptions, however, state that there will be 26 episodes. It's also inconsistently credited, though that may be a translation issue. The website also has a number of images not shown in the films. Backstory'Girls of Olympus' is an Italian book series by Elena Kedros, following three teenage girls who must fight the evil Ares to save themselves and their friends. There's other Gods, Godesses, transformation sequences, items to collect, and magical powers involved, so it fits well within the magical girl genre. It has been translated to English, but seems to only be available on hard-copy. We couldn't find record of where it is sold, only reviews from buyers. Going ViralAs of writing this, the English original trailer has amassed over 700,000 views. Fans on chat groups were excited for something that looked so new in what was then a bit of a rut for magical girl content in the West. That they were inspired by Mythology drew in excited compliments and eagerness from fans of Percy Jackson. And so, without a single episode, it gained a fandom - complete with cosplays, fanfictions, and fan pages. Wattpad, Deviantart, & FanficsIn the early days, fanfics and fan art ran amok - anyone and everyone who'd seen the trailer had an idea of what it could mean, and this only added fuel to the flame of interest. Some of those fanfics gained their own audience, and grew far beyond anything those short trailers could bring us, becoming independent series in their own right. The Trailers:Before there was an English trailer, there was a teaser trailer! It mostly shows the book series being converted, rather than focusing on the animation. The full-length trailer, which was dubbed somewhat sloppily into English, is the one that took the internet by storm. It's packed full with information, with several plot points and characters clearly standing out. The second trailer, uploaded nearly 6 years later, is not dubbed. It's much shorter, and subtitled in English. In many ways, it appears to be a chunk of a pilot episode, rather than as a clipped trailer like the first one. Profiles & Songs There's been a few character profiles and OP/ED songs released that seem to be related to the show. The art and animation certainly appear the same, yet don't show in the trailer. Unfortunately, most are posted by seemingly unrelated channels, so whether or not they are official is truly unknown at this point in time. Of course, there's also been tons of covers and fanfics made in tribute to the series, which are definitely not official. Hope you enjoyed this post!
