Webcomic by Mary Cagle with Oskar Vaga In a world surrounded by a magical dome, designed to keep monsters at bay, young girls transform into magical warriors at night to keep those that get in from harming the cities' residents. But disaster is never far away, as Team Alchemical soon find out. About:Aside from that small blurb, it's difficult to sell this series without also spoiling it. The best we can say is that is deals with loss, trauma, and child soldiers. There's also a social media/fame element thrown in! What we can definitely tell you is that the girls are very diverse - from conspiracy theorist protesters to passionate idols and even a rat. The ethnicities, backgrounds, and lifestyles of the characters vary greatly, and are artfully fleshed out through subtle references and background scenery. There's LGBTQ+ characters, plotlines, and quite a bit of queerbaiting moments alongside canon ships. ![]() There's equal amounts of trope-following, parodying, and deconstruction, which makes for a unique storytelling blend. There's also quite few references to other magical girls and relevant figures in pop culture, so make sure to look for those Easter eggs! The series overall is very positive and hopeful, but at the same time, there are many less-than-positive parts that must happen in order for the characters and story to evolve. Warnings
